Over the next eight days, these International Youth Exchange participants from around the world will paddle more than 200 kilometres through the beautiful Canadian wilderness in two-person aluminum canoes. Along the way, they will experience every aspect of backcountry canoe camping—preparing meals, setting up camp, paddling lakes and rivers, and carrying their canoes and equipment over seven portages, including one that stretches 2.0 kilometres.
We wish them safe travels, great weather, and an incredible journey filled with adventure, friendship, and memories that will last a lifetime.
This year marks the 33rd anniversary of the International Youth Canoe Camp, proudly organized by the Rotary Club of Sioux Lookout.
