What an adventure! The 18 international youth taking part in this year’s Sioux Lookout Rotary Canoe Trip have been making wonderful memories in the heart of Northwestern Ontario, surrounded by our beautiful lakes, forests, and northern hospitality.
Although wildfire activity in the Minnis Lake/River Systems brought the wilderness portion of the trip to an early close as a precaution, the group has safely returned to Sioux Lookout by floatplane.
The adventure is far from over! From Thursday through Sunday, the 18 youth and their leaders will be camping on Ruby Island. If you spot them around town or out on the water, please give them a warm Sioux Lookout welcome and help make their Canadian experience one they will remember for years to come.
